ABOUT US

St. John’s has been a part of the Millvale community since 1877. Our first home was on Fredrick Street and we’re now in our second building at the corner of North and Elizabeth Avenues. Throughout that time, we have been the spiritual home for many in Millvale and its surrounding communities, and generations of Millvale children passed through St. John’s Preschool.

St. John’s is a welcoming, mission-minded congregation that gathers in the name of Jesus to receive His gifts and serve others. We seek to have a servant presence in our community, and support the work of God in faraway places by funding missionaries, assisting regional missions, and supporting military chaplains who serve our soldiers overseas.

We confess and worship the Triune God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and teach salvation by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ. We acknowledge the Holy Scriptures to be the true and inerrant Word of God and celebrate the Sacraments according to Christ’s command. We confess the Christian faith in unity with our sister congregations in the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod (lcms.org).

LEADERSHIP AND STAFF

OUR PASTOR

Pastor Hahn has served St. John’s since 2014. He grew up in Western New York and has served congregations in Michigan and Pennsylvania. He and his wife Mary have five adult children and eight grandchildren.

Pastor Hahn has a Doctor of Ministry degree from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis with an emphasis in preaching. He has leadership roles in a number of local organizations and the Eastern District of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod.

He enjoys terrible jokes and good movies.
